Omar Harfouch remains very attached to Lebanon. He is particularly involved in two major issues: the environment and the fight against corruption. Between 2018 and 2019, he organized several events in France and Lebanon to improve consideration of the environment in Lebanon and respond, in particular, to the waste crisis that threatened the city of Tripoli. 4 August 30, 2018 , he organized a meeting between French senators mobilized in this file and President Michel Aoun.33

To fight against corruption in Lebanon, Omar Harfouch launched a petition on the change.org platform which brought together nearly 100,000 signatories to recover “looted money” 34 The success of this mobilization made it possible to subscribe to the agenda of the European Parliament on this issue. On November 14, 2019, a conference was held in Brussels, in which Omar Harfouch participated, on the future of Lebanon.

Since then, Omar Harfouch has been campaigning for the establishment of a third secular republic. His positions were relayed in many Lebanese media. He went so far as to announce the creation of a Lebanese government in exile to make things happen.35,36

On September 4, 2020, he pays tribute to Beirut, after the explosions that ravaged the Lebanese capital during an exceptional concert in the French Senate.37 On this occasion, he presents his new composition “Beirut, does not die “.
